Alisha O'Sullivan, RMT
Alisha O'Sullivan is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in B.C. She graduated in August 2006 and passed the licensing exam to become an RMT in September. Since then, she has been enthusiastically utilizing what she learned in school and in treatment to help make others well. Alisha has been a member of the Therapedia team since shortly after she passed the licensing exam.
Why did she choose a career in massage therapy? Alisha rode horses when she was younger, so she was originally interested in equestrian massage -- however, her caring nature and deep desire to assist her fellow human beings led her to choose the path of the RMT. All throughout her youth, she was constantly performing massages on her parents to help them with their work-related aches and pains. Through a combination of her parents' constant inspiration and her desire to help others, Alisha was able to pursue her destiny as an RMT.
In 1999, Alisha discovered a passion for playing soccer, which has helped her remain in shape and learn to be a team player. Being an athlete has helped her to understand the aches, pains, and injuries that can occur in competition. During her school studies, she was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to treat the Vancouver Whitecaps soccer team. With the 2010 Olympics coming to B.C., Alisha is excited at the prospect of volunteering her time and skills to help the athletes -- she completed a post-grad course that focused on treating athletes, which is required of all RMTs volunteering at the Olympics.
Alisha thoroughly enjoys meeting new people and is passionately driven by the desire to assist others in improving their health and well-being.
