Anna Ricard, RMT
I have enjoyed working at Therapedia Rehabilitation Centre as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2001. I am constantly seeking to gain experience in my field and diversify my profession through continuing education and new experiences. My approach with patients is always tailored to their needs. My goal is to find ways to enhance my patients' health and well-being so that they may pursue a happy and active life.
I graduated from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in 2001 and I've maintained my certification and membership with both the College of Massage Therapists of BC and the Massage Therapists Association of BC. The courses I've taken through the years, along with experience, have shaped my treatment style and have expanded on the tools of my trade. Along with CPR and Standard First Aid, I've also received training on using the Swiss Ball, Bosu Ball, and using the Foam Roller for rehabilitation, Advanced Trigger Point, Sports Massage, and Yoga for Massage.
I have been fortunate to have had the chance to work within a very multi-disciplinary environment, one that encourages active rehabilitation and positive lifestyle changes. Most of my practice involves working with over-use and athletic injuries, also maternity patients are especially a joy to work with. My experiences with treating athletes include: Long-distance Runner's at the Vancouver and Royal Victoria Marathons, Canadian Women's Water Polo Team, Speed Skater's, Archer's, Triathletes, as well as being a part of the 2005 Men's World Curling Championships Massage Team in Victoria. No matter who I treat, I invite patient participation in their own health care.
