Denise Vanderkuip, RMT
I am a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in B.C., who graduated in December 2005 and passed the licensing exam to become a RMT in the February of 2006. I have completed the first ¼ of a Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) course achieving my basic certification. And looking to the future I hope to return to school soon and receive my Bachelors of Science in Massage Therapy (BScMT).
During my education I took a great interest in treating athletes after an outreach program at UBC focusing of the varsity teams, as well as discovering a love for youth massage and pre/post-natal massage at BC Women's Hospital.
Since my graduation I have treated a wide spectrum of patients from young athletes to elderly, healthy to terminally ill. As well as taking on many ICBC and WCB patients.
Becoming a Massage Therapist was a goal I had strived for since high school, my interest in the human body and its kinetics drew me to the health field, but the personable and hands on approach of Massage Therapy matched my personality and everything I hoped to find in a career. I've thoroughly enjoyed the challenges and triumphs that I have encountered in my first few years as an RMT, and I am looking forward to a long and rewarding career in this field.
Every patient represents the opportunity to help achieve a goal, and as an RMT I love to watch people take control of their health and achieve those aspirations. I look forward to working with you to aid you in attaining your rehabilitation, and health goals.
